For the sixth year, ECI REC is making scholarships available. Scholarship recipients must have parents or guardians who are members of ECI REC, be graduating from high school in the spring of 2012, and plan to continue their education at a two- or four-year institution.
ECI will award up to ten $500 scholarships to students going into any field of study. ECI will also award up to two $1,000 scholarships to seniors who want to work in the electric utility industry as a line worker and are accepted in the one- or two-year Powerline Tech Program at Northwest Iowa Community College.
ECI REC scholarship applications will be delivered to school guidance counselors the last week of November and the first week in December. Applications can also be obtained and filled out on the Web site or from the Urbana office. Applications should be returned to the Urbana office no later than March 2, 2012, 4:30 p.m. Awards will be announced in April.
