Win an expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.

It's Youth Tour time again, and if you’re looking for an experience of a lifetime, we have it….

East-Central Iowa REC will be sponsoring two students on an expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. June 12-17, 2010. Approximately 1,000 youth participants from across the nation will visit historical sights, exploring the Smithsonian Museums, meet Iowa's congressional leaders, spend a day on Capitol Hill, cruise down the Potomac River, and learn about American history and government.

Returning home these young people will take with them a new appreciation and fondness for their country and electric cooperatives... and for each other.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for participation, the student must be in their (11th grade) Junior year of high school, and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must be member-consumers of the East-Central Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative, and receive electric services from the Coop. Children of ECIREC directors or employees are not eligible to participate.

Requirements:
Each participating student will be required to answer a 35 question questionaire and 6 essays. All entries must be received at the Urbana office no later than February 19, 2010, when two finalists will be chosen.

Student (or family) must take electric service from ECIREC.
